The Infans 2-in-1 Rocking Bassinet Travel Crib is not your average travel crib with bassinet.
Indeed, and you probably can tell from its design/appearance that it is not quite the same as what you usually see for a travel crib with bassinet. Most look like this or this (for the more multifunctional ones) but none is quite like the Infans 2-in-1 here.

Let us tell you why it is regarded as one of the best travel crib with bassinet.
2-in-1 Stationary & Rocking Modes
Firstly, it has to be its 2 in 1 design. Aside from standing still like most travel cribs do, this one here can rock from side to side.
Yup, you can put baby into the cot and gently rock him/her to sleep without having to do so in your arms.
Not only does this make your life so much more easier, it also eliminates the risk of waking baby up mid-putting them down into the crib, something that is so common amongst babies that having side door access gives the Lotus such an extra edge.
The rocking angle is set at 15 degrees, which is the degree found to be the most optimum for babies to fall asleep, as well as safe for daily use.
A non-slip foot design is also incorporated to make sure the crib stands stable and secured at stationary mode.
To switch between stationary and rocking modes, simply swing the white arch device (circled above) down for rocking mode and turn it back up if you want it to stay still. It is that simple.
Mosquito Net Included
Another aspect that you don't quite see in travel cribs is that the Infans crib comes with a premium mosquito net as well.
The net closes all the way in so your baby is protected from mosquitos bites. Especially useful during those summer nights!
Don't worry, the net, together with the rest of the crib is made of breathable high quality mesh cloth so airflow is superb inside the crib.
You can continue to keep an eye on baby even with the net on and your baby will not wake up with a sweaty back, that's for sure.
Materials & Portability
While we're on the topic of materials, the overall frame of the Infans is constructed of aluminium. Not only does this make it strong and durable for long term use, aluminium also makes it lighter so it is easier to port around.
Speaking of portability, the total weight of the Infans Rocking Crib is only 14 pounds, comparable to that of the Lotus and BabyBjorn and definitely much lighter than other travel cribs with bassinet in the market.
Boasting a 1-second fold, yep, that's totally doable as all it takes to fold up the Infans is to pull a belt upwards (pictured left) and you're done, you can certainly say this is one of the best portable travel crib.
Likewise, it is very easy to assemble - simply push the legs frames and pull up the handrails and that's it.
Adjustable Height
Another aspect that we like about the Infans, and also sets it apart from a very similar competitor is that this rocking cradle is adjustable into two heights.
In low height mode, you get to sit on the sofa and rock baby to sleep.
Adjusted to a higher height, you can create a co-sleeping arrangement and take care of baby even when you lie on your bed.
Thins to Take Note Of
And no, not the usual 0-3 years age limit as other travel cribs have, but much earlier than that.
This is because the Infans is about 10 inches shorter than your average travel crib so your baby will outgrow it faster comparatively.
You may be able to stretch it slightly beyond the 6th month mark though as it is longer than other competitors of the same design but certainly, not as long as 3 years.
Also, you will not be able to use it as playard like other travel cribs because you can't really contain your child inside as the sides are not tall enough. It can be dangerous too if your child plays a little rough inside, risking toppling over as there is a certain distance from the floor.
These downsides are not exactly Infans' 'fault', but rather, limitations of travel cribs with bassinet of this kind. Nevertheless, it is something to keep in mind.
Pros
Cons
Conclusion:
Overall, the Infans 2-in-1 Rocking Bassinet Travel Crib is an excellent travel crib with bassinet if your primary requirement is a portable bassinet.
It is lightweight and easy to pack and it is carefully and thoughtfully designed, with even its four sides being rounded off to protect baby so that no matter where baby rolls, you can be sure there is no sharp edges that will hurt your baby.
And oh, it is much more affordable than other travel cribs!
