A little background on the 2-Phase Expression Technology – it is a technology that mimics a baby’s natural sucking rhythm which results in getting mothers more milk in less time (18% more proven through research). This amazing feature can only be found in Medela’s Swing breastpumps.
Medela’s research shows that there are basically two distinct phases when babies breastfeed:
1. Stimulation Phase
This is when babies first go to the breast where they suck faster to start the flow of milk.
2. Expression Phase
After milk flow, or “let-down” starts, babies breastfeed with a slower deep suck to remove milk.
