The Storkcraft Portofino 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is not your usual baby crib. This one here has a changing station attached to it.
Yep, it combines two of probably the most used baby items in one single feature so despite it being larger than most standard cribs, it actually saves you more nursery space because you do not need to allocate space for a separate changing table anymore.
This is especially appealing to people with limited space as the attached changing station is smaller than the usual change table.
Now, before you think there will be not enough space, rest assured that it will still be able to fit a standard-sized changing pad. See picture below.
What's better, is that a water-resistant change pad is included when you buy the crib so you do not need to go hunt for one or worry about unfitting sizes.
On top of that, three pullout drawers are provided underneath with more open shelves behind so you will have plenty of storage space to put your essentials.
Now back to the crib itself. The Portofino is a Storkcraft classic, with its dreamy sleigh design and solid build and high quality finish that will instantly improve the interior of any room.
This convertible baby crib is constructed with quality pine wood and composites and it is certified by the JPMA, CPSC and ASTM to be safety-compliant for your little one.
Adding to the security and stability is the stationary design of all four sides and its durable, non-toxic finish.
The Portofino is a 4-in-1 so it can converts easily from a crib to toddler bed, daybed and full bed later on as your little one grows.
And yes, a toddler rail is included in the package but you'll have to buy the full bed conversion kit separately when you need it as that is not included.
What happens to the changing table then in that case, you may ask? Fret not, it can actually be detached completely from the crib itself and be used as a nightstand for your newly-converted full-size bed. That is some brilliant design involved, we tell you!
Most standard crib mattresses will be a good fit, but we recommend getting this one from the same brand (full review here) for the perfect fit.
While the Portofino does not come in a variety of colours, it does offer two other selections besides white:
*Note: as with most other baby cribs, there is a slight price variation when it comes to different colours/finishes so keep that in mind especially if you have a budget to adhere to.
Pros
Cons
Conclusion
If you think a combo like that of the Storkcraft Portofino 4-in-1 Convertible Crib will be very expensive, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that it is actually quite reasonably priced.
Sure, it is definitely more expensive than most standard-sized cribs but if you're to take into account the additional money you will have to spend on a separate changing table otherwise, the Portofino is actually cheaper than most.
Considering all the extras that come with it (mentioned above), we think it is definitely worth the money paid but if you'd like to buy just the crib only, know that Storkcraft provides that option as well.
And oh, the Portofino is the proud recipient of the 2020 Women's Choice Award for 9 out of 10 Customer Recommended Baby and Kids Furniture!
