How We Chose Our Best Jogging Strollers

We researched the market and survey user reviews to find out what are the jogging strollers parents love the most.

We then selected the top 30 products and personally tested each of them with our team of editors (parents-focused) – we push and run with these strollers, glide them on both city streets and park trails, we have our junior editor’s 6-month-old sit in them while we do short runs before switching her out to our marketing manager’s 7-year-old toddler for longer runs – to evaluate the strollers on performance, price, comfort, manoeuvrability, reliability and value.

The result, after filtering out the inferior ones, is the following list of candidates: the top 10 best jogging strollers that cover a multitude of different aspects so that people with different needs can find the best one that suits themselves.

Our Top 10 Best Jogging Strollers Reviews

BEST ALL-AROUND JOGGING STROLLER

Editor's Rating: 4.8/5.0
4.8/5

Child weight/height limit: 75 lbs. or 44 inches
Age: from birth
Dimensions: 46 x 25 x 45 inches
Stroller weight: 28.5 lbs.
Storage: under-seat cargo basket, 6 back pockets with a cell phone pocket

Why We Love It

Despite there being no short of strong competition and consistent newcomers in the market, the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Jogging Stroller remains our top favourite in the overall best running stroller aspect.

It has everything runners have come to love about a BOB jogging stroller, and need in any stroller jogger. A mountain-bike style suspension system that softens the impact of any rough terrain, 9-position adjustable handlebar for parents of different heights, oversized tires with swivel-locking front wheel for the city streets, a lightweight and durable aluminium frame, and plenty of storage space for all your gear (including cell phone).

Travel system compatible, you can use the Flex 3.0 straight away for your newborn by attaching an infant car seat. Keep in mind that there should be no running at this stage after which your little one can sit comfortably in the ultra-padded seat with compression padding (sits fully upright or lay near-flat with infinite recline).

Things To Take Note Of
The spokes on the wheels are a bit on the thick side so fitting a bike pump to the valves can be a little tricky. It’s also heavy and bulky (even for a jogging stroller) so it probably wouldn’t be the best idea if you’re thinking to use it as an everyday stroller too.
VERDICT: If you are a casual runner who do not know how to choose – you know, you just want ‘the best jogging stroller’ – and you don’t have any specific requirements, then the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Jogging Stroller is one that you can’t go wrong with.

BEST JOGGING STROLLER FOR SERIOUS RUNNERS

Editor's Rating: 4.7/5.0
4.7/5

Child weight limit: 48.5 lbs.
Age: 6 months up
Dimensions: 114 x 65 x 94 inches
Stroller weight: 30.4 lbs.
Storage: cargo space behind seat

Why We Love It

Stroll, bike, jog or even ski with the Thule Chariot Cross Multisport Trailer & Stroller. When it comes to the best all-in-one stroller for the serious, year-round runner, this is definitely the best multisport jogging stroller one can get their hands on.

You do need to get the jogging and skiing kit separately but it is otherwise a durable and sturdy 4-wheel stroller that also doubles up as a bike trailer, the latter two of which already have kits included for their conversion. The ‘Click n’Store’ feature lets you store all kits onboard so you can conveniently interchange between activities.

Manoeuvrability-wise, we give this a perfect score. It feels bouncy but smooth on all terrain which is something only possible with a great adjustable suspension system, and the handlebars are adjustable for the perfect grip. The seats are padded and there are adjustable vents to increase ventilation inside the enclosed seat area.

Yes, this is probably the most distinctive feature that sets the Chariot Cross apart from other strollers. Zip the netting up and the whole seat area can be enclosed when weather conditions call for it. And unlike other strollers, cargo space is not underneath the seat but behind in a bag form which can be removed to increase your kick stride while jogging.

Things To Take Note Of

The Chariot Cross is larger than other models but for its size, it’s fairly light at just about 30 pounds. It is a little difficult to fold for storage but once folded, it is rather compact. You can remove the wheels to make it even more so but that could be tedious and time-consuming.

It is a splurge and you do need to pay extra to get the jogging/skiing kits so unless you’re a committed multi-sport athlete, you’d probably want to consider other options.

VERDICT: The Thule Chariot Cross Multisport Trailer & Stroller is definitely made for the active family who is serious about their outdoor activities. If you live in a cold climate with snow, this is also a great choice as you can push it even in a blizzard and baby will stay clammy inside. Available in a Double version too for those with twins or have two kids to push.

BEST AFFORDABLE STROLLER JOGGER

Editor's Rating: 4.7/5.0
4.7/5

Child weight limit: 50 lbs.
Age: 6 months up
Dimensions: 24 x 47 x 42.5 inches
Stroller weight: 25.4 lbs.
Storage: under-seat cargo basket, parent console

Why We Love It

Jogging strollers tend to be more expensive than their standard counterparts but that is not the case with the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller. At under $200, this is the best budget jogging stroller for families who intend to do the casual run regularly with their little one.

Featuring an extra-wide open wheel base, it offers exceptional stability and runs smooth on most terrain. It doesn’t bounce around a lot (even on bumpier surfaces) but it can be a little wobbly if ran with the front wheel unlocked so do remember to lock it when you go running. The ergonomic rubber handlebar gives a good grip and there is a parent tray for your convenient handling – 2 cup holders and covered compartment storage to be exact.

We love that it also comes with a child tray with 2 cup holders – mind you, this is pretty unexpected for such an affordable stroller – and the under-seat cargo basket is spacious enough for all the essentials. The stroller shouldn’t be used until 6 months of age unless you attach an infant car seat onto it, if this is what you prefer, it’s available in a travel system package with infant car seat included.

Things To Take Note Of
The Expedition is not designed for hardcore off-road running, smooth as it may on pavements and slightly uneven terrain. It doesn’t have the shock-absorption needed for these bumping around but the good thing is, it is not a large investment. You can easily use it as an everyday stroller otherwise – it is one of the most lightweight jogging strollers we’ve tried so it makes for a pretty good portable stroller if you live in a city (the narrower frame suits too).
VERDICT: The Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller is perfect for those who’d just started to go out for runs with their little one, or are not sure how often they’ll use it for runs. It is also the best jogging stroller for those with a smaller budget.

BEST LIGHTWEIGHT JOGGING STROLLER

Editor's Rating: 4.5/5.0
4.5/5

Child weight/height limit: 75 lbs. or 44 inches
Age: 3 months up
Dimensions: 54 x 25 x 46 inches
Stroller weight: 25.7 lbs. (bassinet 8.8 lbs.)
Storage: under-seat cargo basket, parent organizer

Why We Love It

Speaking of lightweight, the Joovy Zoom360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller is the best lightweight jogging stroller if we’re talking about the full performance, solid type of running strollers. Easy to fold with just one hand, it is durable enough for serious runners without the weight.

All thanks to the use of the rust-free aluminium material for its frame. While this alone is a very attractive aspect, it becomes even more the significant here because this stroller has a 75-pound maximum weight capacity, meaning, your little one can ride well into the toddler years. When your toddler is weighing considerably themselves, it is all the more appealing to have a lightweight stroller that doesn’t add to the bulk so that you can run easier with.

The large pneumatic wheels are of top-quality standards and it is equipped with shock-absorbing suspension so you can expect a smooth and solid roll on even the roughest of landscapes. A one-step press on the spring-loaded brake mechanism will lock both rear wheels and keep it solidly where it should be, and the air pump that comes with it is a thoughtful addition to have. You can purchase a car seat adapter to turn it into a travel system, too!

Things To Take Note Of
It doesn’t have an adjustable handlebar so that could be quite the drawback for parents of considerable different heights.
VERDICT: If weight is a top priority, the Joovy Zoom360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller is the best jogging stroller for you.

BEST JOGGING STROLLER TRAVEL SYSTEM

Editor's Rating: 4.6/5.0
4.6/5

Child weight/height limit: 50 lbs.(or 32 inches in infant car seat)
Age: from 4-35 lbs. (infant car seat) up
Dimensions: 40 x 24 x 42 inches
Stroller weight: 38 lbs. (bassinet 8.8 lbs.)
Storage: under-seat cargo basket, parent tray with cup holders

Why We Love It

Not everyone has a park right outside their house so if jogging requires some driving to your destination first, you may want to get the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System which comes with the brand’s most popular infant car seat.

Boasting its signature one-second, one-hand ‘FastAction’ fold, this is easily the most easy-to-fold jogger stroller on the market that even the most-petite parent can handle alone. Likewise for the infant car seat attachment – a Click Connect technology allows for a one-step, secure connection of it to the stroller so it is all about speed and convenience here.

Speaking of infant car seat, the model that is included here is the SNUGRIDE 35 which probably doesn’t need much introduction if you’ve done your car seat research. We gave it a close-to-perfect score here, as is the case with most parents who bought it (see their ratings here). In any case, it is compatible with all Graco car seats so don’t worry if there is another model that you prefer (or already owned).

Made in the USA, all rubber tires are air-filled to offer great suspension so you can expect a smooth ride on any terrain. The swivelling front wheel can be locked for added stability while running and your little one can sit comfortably in the padded, multi-position reclining seat. Storage is pretty impressive here with an extra-large basket underneath the seat and a parent’s tray which like the child’s tray, come with cup holders.

Things To Take Note Of
This stroller leans on the heavier side so even though it is easy to fold, it may require a bit of effort to carry it around. It stands on its own when folded though so that helps.
VERDICT: The Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System is the perfect stroller for active parents looking for the convenience of a stroller and car seat combo that doesn’t break the bank, or on-the-go parents who need a portable travel system that’s easy to set up and take down with no fuss.

BEST ALL-TERRAIN JOGGING STROLLER

Editor's Rating: 4.6/5.0
4.6/5

Child weight limit: 75 lbs.
Age: from birth with infant car seat (sold separately)
Dimensions: 41.1 x 27.2 x 40 inches
Stroller weight: 25.3 lbs.
Storage: under-seat cargo basket, parent console

Why We Love It

It is voted the Best Jogging Stroller of 2023 by Women’s Health so you know the Thule Urban Glide 2 Jogging Stroller is nothing short of amazingness. To be honest, it is quickly becoming a top favourite among our editors here and it’s not just because of the sleek, trendy design it sports.

Starting from the integrated twist hand brake which definitely is its distinctive feature (you don’t see it in many jogger strollers), parents get to have better and stronger control of hilly terrain which is why we crown it the “best all-terrain jogging stroller” out of all. Seriously, this three-wheel stroller just glides on so smoothly on all kinds of terrain and it has the large 16” rear wheels and suspension system to thank for. As with all the best jogging strollers, the front swivel wheel can be locked into place for jogging and the handlebar is adjustable to give parents of different heights an ergonomic grip.

It is also one of the lightest jogging strollers we have tested so if you intend to double your jogger as an everyday stroller, this will step up to the game. The lightness certainly makes a difference in terms of jogging, folding and transporting, speaking of which, it boasts the same one-handed fold like the Graco FastAction. Simply slide and twist the release bar and it will fold in half.

The same one-handed operation can be found in the seat recline as well where a multi-position canopy is provided for better ventilation control. We like the cargo storage basket here very much as it has a zip-tip closure to keep all contents secure, even when folded. If you’re interested in turning this jogger stroller into a travel system, you can do so by purchasing the car seat adapter. For twins or two kids in tow, it is available in Double mode too.

Things To Take Note Of
As with most Thule strollers, the Urban Glide 2 Jogger leans on the expensive side. The amazing features justify for the price in our opinion but again, like the Chariot Cross, unless you’re a committed/serious runner, other options may give you better value for money.
VERDICT: For serious runners who like to challenge all kinds of terrain, the Thule Urban Glide 2 Jogging Stroller is the dream stroller to run with. If you don’t want something too bulky or heavy so that you can use it as an everyday stroller as well (and if you have the budget for it), this is the best running stroller for you.

BEST CITY JOGGING STROLLER

Editor's Rating: 4.3/5.0
4.3/5

Child weight limit: 55 lbs.
Age: from birth up
Dimensions: 47 x 24.5 x 26.5 inches
Stroller weight: 26 lbs.
Storage: under-seat cargo basket

Why We Love It

Not everyone has to be a serious runner that tackles hilly terrain or bumpy sidewalks – you can be quite the leisure runner that does your trips around grocery stores or shopping malls too. In this instance, jogging strollers that are too large are hard to manoeuvre so you probably wouldn’t use them for anything other than running, but if they’re too small, they can be tip-prone because you know, they have three wheels only after all.

That is why we’ve searched high and low for a jogging stroller that fits the bill and we found it in the Bumbleride Indie All-Terrain Stroller. It has a compact wheelbase and a comparatively narrow frame that fits through doorways easily so you can navigate it in the city, yet is stable and steady enough to take on a run once the front wheel is locked. It may not withstand bumpy terrain as well as the Thule or BOB strollers but the tires are air-filled nevertheless, and there is an all-wheel suspension system to give a relatively smooth ride.

This is also one of the very rare jogging strollers that is ready to go at birth without requiring additional attachments. In just a few snaps, you can convert it into a protective, bassinet-like infant mode. That said, you should still wait until baby is 6 months old before you go running with him/her, reasons detailed below. You do need to purchase the car seat adapter separately though if you wish to use it as a travel system. One of the best features of this stroller is how easily it collapses so storage and transporting it is a breeze, and it comes with an air pump and wrist strap for extra control.

Things To Take Note Of
The 12” tires are not built for serious running so do not expect it to handle jolts and bumps that well. Also, it is on the higher end of the price spectrum.
VERDICT: The Bumbleride Indie All-Terrain Stroller is one of the best jogging strollers for the casual runner who spend considerable time navigating the city streets and busy sidewalks on a daily basis besides running.

BEST DOUBLE JOGGING STROLLER (FOR LONG RUNS)

Editor's Rating: 4.8/5.0
4.8/5

Child weight/height limit: 50 lbs. or 44 inches each seat
Age: from birth with infant car seat (sold separately)
Dimensions: 48 x 30.5 x 45 inches
Stroller weight: 33.1 lbs.
Storage: under-seat cargo basket, 10 back pockets with cell phone pockets

Why We Love It

Onto the double jogging strollers, we have the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Double Jogging Stroller which is pretty much the double version of our top favourite, the Flex 3.0.

We have done a thorough review here so we wouldn’t repeat ourselves again (you can basically think of it as adding another seat onto the Flex3.0). It is the best double stroller for running for serious runners because of its mountain-bike style suspension system and air-filled tires – this one here ride over any terrain as smooth as a butter, undeterred by the additional seat in any way.

With the addition of the brand’s car seat adapter, you can turn it into a travel system anytime and use it for your newborns. It is compatible with most major brand car seats so that’s convenient. Again, you should refrain from running with babies at this stage after which they can accompany you until they’ve past the weight limit (50 lbs. each).

Things To Take Note Of
Like its single version, the Duallie is heavy and bulkier than other models so it is not the easiest to fold and store. Its footprint is still considerably larger than others when folded so some parents may find it difficult to tuck in their car trunk.
VERDICT: The BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Double Jogging Stroller is suitable for serious runners who want to run with their twins / children close in age.

BEST DOUBLE JOGGING STROLLER FOR NEW JOGGERS

Editor's Rating: 4.6/5.0
4.6/5

Weight limit: 50 lbs. each side
Age: 6 months up
Dimensions: 55 x 31.5 x 42 inches
Stroller weight: 28.2 lbs.
Storage: under-seat cargo basket, mesh compartments, parent organizer

Why We Love It

If you are the casual runner type and do not need an advanced double jogging stroller like the BOB Gear Duallie, the Joovy Zoom X2 Lightweight Performance Double Jogging Stroller will be a very good choice. It is also a more affordable double jogging stroller that doesn’t break the bank like most double strollers do.

Don’t worry, it still has everything necessary you’d want in a jogger stroller – extra-large, air-filled tires that give it a good suspension system for a smooth ride on any terrain, even or uneven. The front swivel wheel locks in place for extra stability and we love how its foot brake is one full bar so you can access it easily without scrambling around.

It is the little details that set this side-by-side double stroller apart from the rest. The two seats can be individually adjusted so that each child can sit in any position from upright to fully reclined that’s most comfortable to them. Likewise for the waterproof canopies – each can be adjusted to several positions ranging from fully closed to fully extended, or any position in between independently. It comes with a pump for the tires too so you don’t have to worry about them deflating on a run.

The storage capacity is one we appreciate very much too as there will be a lot of things to bring along when you’re going out with two kids. The under-seat cargo area can hold up to 15 pounds and there are two pockets by the seats where kids can stash their snacks and toys. For parents, the console has a zippered pocket to prevent your valuables from falling out when you run, and a cup holder for that drink.

Things To Take Note Of
While it is considered fairly lightweight compared to standard double strollers, it still feels pretty heavy and bulky so petite parents may find it a bit difficult to manage.
VERDICT: The Joovy Zoom X2 Lightweight Performance Double Jogging Stroller is the best double jogging stroller if you’re new to the jogging-with-your-kids game.

BEST CONVENIENT JOGGING STROLLER

Editor's Rating: 4.6/5.0
4.6/5

Child weight limit: 75 lbs.
Age: 6 months up
Dimensions: 45 x 26 x 43.5 inches
Stroller weight: 28.4 lbs.
Storage: under-seat basket

Why We Love It

We have to throw the Baby Jogger Summit X3 Jogging Stroller in the mix – if you’re like our marketing director who like to keep things as simple and accessible as they can when it comes to baby products, you’ll love this stroller jogger as much as she does.

Taking convenience to another level is a remote wheel lock mounted on the handlebar, meaning parents can switch between the locked jogger mode and swivel stroller mode easily without touching the front wheel. Adding to the hand operation mechanism is the rear drum brake for more control on hilly or uneven terrain, and a tether strap for even greater control when situations call for it.

Because of this, it is one of the best jogging strollers to navigate with on busted roads. The 16” rear wheels and all wheel suspension system add to the equation of course, and we like how there is a limited lifetime warranty for the whole frame. The seat reclines near flat with an air ventilation flap for baby’s ultimate comfort and the UV50+ canopy has a peekaboo window that can be adjusted to multiple positions as you open/close it.

Things To Take Note Of
While the Summit X3 jogging stroller is equipped with the brand’s patented quick one-hand fold technology, our marketing manager did find it rather heavy still so she’ll need to use both hands to lift when storing it away in the car trunk. It’s not a dealbreaker to us, but petite moms may want to take note of this.
VERDICT: The Baby Jogger Summit X3 Jogging Stroller is the ideal option for parents who seek convenience and ease of use in their jogging strollers.

FAQ

The most notable difference when it comes to jogging strollers is that they have 3 wheels instead of 4 like the standard strollers do. This triangle configuration is designed to enable the stroller to glide over rough surfaces and bumpy paths/dirt roads with ease and if you notice carefully, you will also see that the wheels are bigger than the traditional ones (with the back wheels being slightly bigger than the front).

The purpose of this is for added stability. Aided by a suspension system that absorbs all the impact of jolts and imperfections on the roads, baby can sit/sleep comfortably in it while you get your cardio done. This is why you should never run with your normal stroller because it wouldn’t have such suspension to securely handle running speeds, bumpy roads and cracked sidewalks to keep baby steady in their seat. Also, the wheels are not stable enough.

Although traditional strollers aren’t suitable for running or jogging, a jogging stroller can double as an everyday stroller in most cases. You probably do not want that though because they are heavier and bulkier in general, at least not for daily uses. The many different types of strollers do exist for a reason – head over here to find out which type suits you best.

While all jogging strollers are designed to absorb the bouncing that comes along with more intense speed or uneven surfaces to provide more stability than a traditional stroller, they vary in how many mechanisms are in place to accomplish this. Some strollers are made for serious runners with all the bells and whistles while others are built for more of a casual short jog here and there.

At the very basic though, here are what jogging strollers should be equipped with:

Lockable Front Wheel
Most jogging strollers will have a lockable front wheel that swivels otherwise nowadays but there are some which is permanently locked in place. Both are fine although we like the former more for its flexibility as you can unlock and let it swivel for easy manoeuvring when walking, but lock it in place when running to keep it on path no matter what it encounters.

Adjustable Handlebar
An adjustable handlebar means shorter runners can jog equally comfortable as their taller partner with an ergonomic grip on their stroller. This is of particular importance if you have multiple runners in the household. Top strollers will usually have this incorporated with at least three positions to choose from – our favourite BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 has 9!

Brakes
Most strollers have a parking brake but only a handful will feature a hand brake, the Thule Urban Glide 2 and Baby Jogger Summit X3 being the two options that we can find. A hand brake is particularly useful if your running grounds feature mostly hilly terrains as you get to maintain your form and pace steadily instead of having to lean back to keep the stroller under control. In any case, a hand brake comes in handy (pun intended) any time you want to slow the stroller down smoothly!

Weight
Now, a jogging stroller will definitely be heavier than your standard ones so do not expect anything like that. There are lighter options though such as the Joovy Zoom360 and Bumbleride Indie. It doesn’t hurt to compare the weight of the strollers you are considering – with a kid in tow, every ounce counts!

Extra Features
Things like a five-point harness and reclining seat are a must to ensure baby’s comfort and safety but it would be nice to have a safety tether as well. This is a leash-like loop that is attached to the stroller and goes onto your wrist to keep your stroller from rolling too far away in the event you suddenly lose grip on the handle (bumpy roads and whatnots). A large canopy will be great to keep the sun away – if it has a peekaboo screen, all the better!

While keeping active is important, you should wait until baby is at least eight months old before you go jogging or running with them. Some experts even advise holding it off until baby is 12 months old.

The reason being, babies do not have the strength to hold their head up and keep their neck stable before that. There will be a lot of jolts and bounces when you run so that wouldn’t be safe for a newborn, even with the strongest suspension system and absorption mechanism.

The good thing is, jogging strollers are generally bigger and are able to accommodate children longer – the Thule Chariot can even fit up to 7-year-olds – so rest assured you can get a lot of years out of your stroller.
